About Dana Jacobs

Dana Jacobs has been a certified nurse mIdwife and women's health care provider for over 25 years. Born and raised in New York City, Dana graduated from The City University of New York with a BA in education. After a brief time teaching she went back to school to become a Registered Nurse. It was during her time as a cancer nurse at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City that she realized she wanted to work with women and their families. She decided to go back to school and study nurse midwifery. “Becoming a nurse-midwife made sense. Caring for women of all ages and seeing them through a pregnancy is the most exciting and gratifying work I can imagine. There is nothing more beautiful than watching a mother's face as you place her baby in her arms for the very first time.”

Dana is a clinical preceptor for both Frontier Nursing University and Georgetown University. She has been teaching obstetrics and gynecology to Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Midwifery students since 2013.

Dana is also trained in newborn circumcision and was certified to perform Brit Milah, the jewish ritual for circumcision, by Rabbi Gary Atkins, Brit Kodesh Program.

Dana lives in South Florida with her 2 children. She is an avid scrabble player and enjoys a formidable opponent.
